The round "knobs" are to keep the lid in position. It would slide into the water without. It‚' not really a "cutout" as I wrote - there is one segment that was "cut away"!

PS: I also noticed that the water temperature is now plus 1 ° C with the lid on!
Yup the temperature will go up slightly with a lid and you will get all sorts of condensation and dust on it, its still worth having and it also keeps the Nerite snails in too!
The diatom is coming now. Some Air bubbles here and there.

Looks good! Ive read in places that they don't grow in brackish but i've also seen others having much success with them too, thanks for the share and keep the updates coming!.
