Feeding opae ula

Im new to opae ula and i am not sure how often to feed them. Any advice?

I have about 10 opae ula in a 1/2 gallon tank that has no algae. The tank is about a month old and I have been feeding them spirulina powder (a scoop using toothpick) every 2-3 days... maybe 1-2 mini algae wafers for a change.

My tank has indirect sunlight in the day and about 2 hours or less lighting in the night. Salinity: 1.008 -1.010sg

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi there! With the quantity of shrimps you have I would recommend feeding a small sprinkle of spurlina once every 2 weeks, maybe so when it expands on the surface it grows to about an inch wide, your SG is perfect. If you would like to speed up the algae growing process you could leave the tank light on for 12 hours a day which should Kickstart that growth. You don't need to worry about shrimp food too much as an invisible biofilm grows on all the surfaces of the tank which Opae ula eat
