I want to put a small sponge filter in my tank. Stagnant water makes me a little nervous. I know that it should be low flow. What do you think?

You can use a sponge filter with an air pump if you would like one, it wont harm anything so-long as the water is just trickling back in slow so as not to knock the shrimp around.

Thank you. I'll buy the smallest and set the valve to very low.

These work very well in shrimp tanks and should be baby safe too, they also come as a double sponge too. If you are not familiar with these they require a few bits like small air pump, a one way valve and adjustable tap which are not too expensive.
