[Algae In Space]

Had a heat mat for my tortoises. Works great. But how does one control the max temps for a aquarium using this things?

I don't have any heat thingy in my tank and the temp is a steady 24. But I sometimes wonder what will happen when the circuit breaker disconnects and the flat won't heat when I am away
