I just installed a filter in the tank, it takes about 2-3 days and the air inlet tube in the water turns red, does anyone knows why it turns red? the first time i saw i thought the tube was dirty, i cut away the tube and 2-3 days later it turns red again.

I'm not sure why its gone red, must be a reason for it though  Why did you decide to go with a air filter?

im thinking of changing to another smaller tank, so i want grow BB on this filter and will use this filter in the new tank when time comes. googled online for this but nothing shows up.

Great idea that, when i setup new tanks i used a mesh bag filled with sand/substrate from my main tank and it worked a treat every time. Hope it goes well for you!

now i know why i see a big bag in your tank. someone said the red color thing might be mold caused by water reversing back to the tube when i off the pump. yes i remember seeing water flowing back when i off the pump but i still cant understand why the tube turns red due to water flowing back and if the red thing is a mold. i really dont think it is a mold but i have no other possible explanation now.

I don't think its mold either, i had this in my fresh water tanks and you can just wipe it off with some kitchen towel/paper cloth.. it comes with the territory unfortunately.

edit: this was on the outside of the pipes on mine.
