Could it be possible that my eyes deceived me, as there was what looked like green algae on the rock during the day and now as I went to turn the LED light on and there is no algae to be seen... is this even possible?
Did anyone else see the green algae from my previous pics earlier today?

Hello,
So I received my shrimps yesterday morning, as soon as I out them I to the tank they all disappeared hiding away in the rock for a good few hours. Well while letting them into the jar 2 got left behind in the bag so I had to quick dip the bag into the jar to let some water in to aid them out. It was matter of seconds so not sure if it affect them.
Later on when they all decided it was safe enough to come out about 4 out of the 10 remained transparent instead of red. But they all seemed to be swimming around happily and exploring. This morning I can only see around 2/3 of them and they seem to be sitting around the rocks rather then swimming around. Is this normal behaviour?
I noticed last night before bed that the transparent ones were started to gain some colour apart from one who still looked so much like casper. How long after should they all become red?
I have been trying to upload some vids to show but keeps saying error so took some pics instead

It’s hard to say to be honest, could be stress, water parameter differences to what they are used to or just how they are naturally coloured.

Hiding is normal for opae shrimp especially if your setup have lots of rocks , this is their natural instinct, they will breed more easy when they have their own privacy , when I setup a breeding tank , I just put some rock and dump in few dozen of them and let them thrive in there and occasionally check on them .

I am so sad. I set up my new shrimp tank with the seachem brackish salt thinking that it was okay to use. My old jar of more than 10 years with 3 survivor shrimps died in 3 days of being acclimated and transferred to the tank. Without realizing salt was the issue and I thought ammonia or nitrite was the problem, I got the API freshwater master test kit to test the water parameters. It was perfect and so I got another 14 shrimps to add into the tank. It’s now day 6 and I’ve lost 11 more shrimps, mostly due to failed molting. Now I’ve just received instant ocean sea salt and will start to replace the tank water gradually. I’m upset that my original shrimps set up of close to 15 years ended just like this.

Sad for you as well , I already warn few newcomer avoid using seachem Brackich SALT before , anyway try again , opae Ula is easy , just make sure do it right this round , use 100g to minimum 4.2- maximum 5L reverse osmosis water to (achieve the optimum salinity range for them . 1.006 to 1.018 ) brackish water , make sure salt is fully dissolve before use , an large airstone with a powerful air pump will help you stir and dissolve the salt

I’m currently replacing 30% of my seachem brackish salt water (1.010 SG) with the instant ocean sea salt water(1.010 SG) via drip acclimation in the next 2-4 hours. Hopefully I can prevent the remaining 3 shrimps from dying. Cross my fingers!

I’d just change it all out at the same time to save the shrimp.
