They are Melanoides maculata right? There are an hybrid between M.maculata and M.tuberculata half black half normal color

There are some strands of macro algae forming now. I like it! Pretty wild how long they get. They are about 10 cm already. Hard to take a picture of it tho.

It does look like hair algae. It is a pain to keep in check if it starts to get out of control. Not too much of it now but it can start to grow all over & that's what you want to avoid.

Sure I get that. Hm. I never had this alga before! I mean what will it do to the tank?Could it benefit my tank in any way or will it just be a hairy mess in there after a while? I don’t have ditch grass so I am happy that something is growing in there :smile:

I love the way the rocks with algae looks in there. Just think of what it will look like once the hair algae starts to take over. I've had that happen. I still have rocks that have it. Some of the rocks I just removed since it kept coming back after months of removing by hand.
