I also killed one before, It got left behind in the straw so I would suck up one more time in the baby tank so it would get released if it got left in the straw. So a clear straw is best.

How do you use the clear tube/straw? Do you suck it? i use that glass shrimp catcher and just get it under them and slowly bring it up to the surface (not perfect but it works).

It works the same way as its hollow indside, sort of like a long tobacco pipe.

Just a quick update, the first batch of larvae that are in the larvae tank have morphed into little baby shrimp and have gone into hiding. There are about 10 from the 2nd batch that are still bobbing around head first. The 140 litre breeder tank had from what i have seen this morning 5 berried females of which 2 have ALOT of eggs and the other 3 have between 5 - 10 each.
